Liz Lister & Sean Jones
Liz Lister and Sean are proud members of Boston's vibrant dance community and are passionate about creating experiences that connect people through music and movement.
As a dance instructor, event organizer, and social dancer, Liz focuses on building welcoming communities where dancers can learn, grow, and form meaningful connections.
Sean is a performer, competitor, and social dancer whose experiences in both Latin dance and Hip Hop reflect the spirit of collaboration and creativity that Battle of the Beats was built to celebrate.
Together, they created Battle of the Beats as a space where dancers can challenge themselves, learn from one another, and celebrate the unique energy that emerges when different styles come together.

How Does It Work?
Rules & Flow Of Battle Of The Beats
The battle features three rounds designed to test creativity, adaptability, musicality, and performance.
In each round, competitors dance twice. The first set is focused on solo dancing and footwork. The second set allows dancers to incorporate partnerwork, tricks, lifts, flips, and other performance elements.
Round 1: Rep Your Style
Dance to music from your own genre and showcase what makes your style unique.
Round 2: Flip the Script
Dance to music selected from your opponent's genre while staying true to your own style.
Round 3: Conversation Battle
Finalists face off in a back-and-forth exchange where Latin and Hip Hop dancers respond to one another through movement, musicality, and creativity.
Whether you're competing or cheering from the crowd, every round is designed to celebrate the artistry, culture, and community of both dance styles.
